What is Eat Breathe Thrive?

Eat Breathe Thrive is an integrative program that helps people eat mindfully, build resilience, and connect with their bodies.

How it Works
What It's Used For

The Four Pillars

  • A group of women seated on yoga mats practicing yoga or meditation, with one woman in the foreground closing her eyes and holding her arms upward.

    Functional Action

Learn to eat, move your body, and appreciate your body based on what it does and what it needs, not what it looks like.

  • Woman practicing yoga in a living room, seated in a cross-legged pose on a yoga mat with her hand over her chest and stomach, appearing to be experiencing discomfort.

    Embodied Intimacy

Learn to connect with your innermost feelings and experiences through the body and use that awareness to forge healthier relationships with others.

  • A young man practicing meditation in a bright room near a window with a city view, sitting cross-legged on a rug with calming decor including a candle, reed diffuser, and small plants.

    Inner Awareness

Learn to identify your physical and emotional needs and eat in ways that nourish your body and mind.

  • Person sitting outdoors near a body of water, holding their hands together as they look at the scenery.

    Self-Regulation

Learn how your body can help you cope with difficult emotions and generate positive states of mind.

How does Eat Breathe Thrive work?

You can join an Eat Breathe Thrive (EBT) course online or in person. Our practitioners offer groups in over fifty cities worldwide. Some are free; others have a fee set by the practitioner.

All practitioners are extensively trained by the EBT organization and come from diverse professional backgrounds, including counseling, yoga therapy, nutrition, and healthcare. EBT is always practiced in groups. For individuals with active eating disorders, EBT should be paired with individual treatment. In clinical settings, groups may meet twice weekly instead of once.

EBT is based on the understanding that eating disorders involve both cognitive and somatic challenges. It emphasizes somatic skill-building—learning to recognize hunger and fullness cues, manage emotions, reconnect with your body, and find joy in physical experience. EBT also includes a service component to help you cultivate purpose and give back through your growth.

“The program has been incredibly beneficial for many of our clients at Rosewood, helping them reconnect with their bodies—an essential part of recovery for those struggling with Anorexia, Bulimia, or Binge Eating Disorder. Our clients have deeply engaged with the practice, and the transformation we've seen is remarkable. I highly recommend this program to any treatment center aiming to foster a stronger mind-body connection.”
