Facilitator Training FAQs

How do I become a licensed Eat Breathe Thrive Facilitator?
Your first step is to attend a Module One training and master the basics. Module One gives you an opportunity to experience the program before you teach it to others. Once you complete it, you can apply to begin Module Two.

Graduates of Module Two are fully licensed to lead programs and offer workshops for one year, and may acquire an unlimited license through the Facilitator Network.

How long does it take to complete the Facilitator Training Program?   clock icon
Our educational model is self-paced and experiential, offering you an opportunity to apply what you learn throughout the training experience. The training consists of two training modules:
  • Module One is an in-person program that spans three days (at most locations) and allows you an opportunity to personally experience the program you will learn to teach.
  • Module Two is a six-month online mentorship program. It consists of personalized mentorship, online videos, exercises and activities, and practicum. The training is self-paced, allowing you time to integrate what you learn and offer your first program to participants.

When do I get to start teaching my first program?
You get to start teaching your first program about three months into Module Two.

Do I have to have a co-facilitator?   co-facilitator icon
Yes. We require all facilitators lead the program in collaboration with at least one co-facilitator. This is important not only for you and your sustainability, but for your participants’ benefit and safety as well. If one participant in your program is having a hard time, it’s important that one of you can take care of the group while the other supports the student one-on-one. It’s also important that each of you have complementary skills and professional backgrounds, so that you can run an effective program.

I live in a country where you don’t offer Module One in person. Does my co-facilitator have to complete Module One too?
No. Only one of you must complete Module One.

Can I choose anyone to be my co-facilitator, or are there special requirements?
  • At least one of you will need to have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training.
  • At least one of you will need to have attended Module One in person.
  • At least one of you needs to have experience facilitating groups.
  • If you have a history of eating disorders, you must be in solid recovery for at least one year.

How is the program I will learn to teach structured?
Our program is comprised of six weekly two-hour sessions, plus a service project at the end of the program. Facilitators may teach the program any day of the week, but most find that weekday evenings work best. The sessions are comprised of one hour of psychoeducational activities and one hour of mindful movement and meditation.

How is Module Two structured?
Module Two is an online training comprised of eight sections, each of which includes 1-3 hours of instructional videos, downloadable resources, quizzes, assignments, and coaching calls with a Learning Coach. During sections two through eight, you will run your first program for participants.

Where do facilitators teach their programs?   hosting location
Facilitators teach their programs in all sorts of locations! Educators offer the program in schools and colleges to prevent eating disorders and promote positive body image. Mental health practitioners offer it in community settings to provide a supportive space for individuals transitioning out of eating disorder treatment. Yoga teachers offer it in studios to support students struggling with emotional eating and negative body image.

What is the minimum number of students for a series?
